Official Announcement: Combi Launches “1-for-1 Replacement Commitment for Child Car Seats Involved in Accidents”
As a leading baby product brand originating in Japan with over 68 years of history, Combi is committed to being “your helping hands.” Guided by our core principle—“child safety always comes first”—we are dedicated to developing safe, reliable, and thoughtfully designed products for families around the world. When it comes to child passengers, safety during car travel is paramount and must never be compromised.
Program Overview
This commitment applies to all Combi child car seats purchased on or after April 17, 2025. In the event of a road traffic collision—regardless of severity—even if the seat appears undamaged externally, internal structures or parts may be compromised, reducing its protective effectiveness. To ensure continued safety, Combi strongly recommends replacing the seat immediately after any such incident.
Customers are encouraged to file claims with their personal motor insurance provider. If the seat replacement is not covered or the claim is rejected, and the case meets Combi’s specified conditions, we will provide a brand-new seat of the same or equivalent model free of charge, offering peace of mind and practical support for parents when it’s needed most.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
1. Be a legal resident of Hong Kong or Macau, and provide valid proof of local address.
2. The accident must occur within Hong Kong or Macao territory.
3. Be the registered owner of the involved vehicle, which must have had a Combi child car seat installed at the time of the accident.
4. The seat must be within three years of its original purchase date.
5. Hold valid motor insurance in Hong Kong or Macau, with at least third-party liability coverage.
6. The vehicle must have held a valid license/registration at the time of the accident.
Required Documentation
Applicants must submit the following documents for review. Failure to provide full documentation may result in disqualification:
1. Valid proof of address in Hong Kong or Macau.
2. Written confirmation from the insurance provider that the child car seat is not covered under the policy.
3. Description of the accident including: vehicle speed, direction of impact, extent of damage, condition of the seat, and related photos.
4. Clear, multi-angle photos of the damaged vehicle showing all affected areas.
5. Valid proof of motor insurance.
6. Copy of the police accident report.
7. Copy of the valid vehicle registration license.
8. Proof of purchase for the Combi child car seat issued by an authorized dealer, clearly indicating the purchase date.
9. Copy of the insurance claim submission, if applicable.
Terms & Conditions
1. Each seat is eligible for one-time free replacement only. No further coverage or extended warranty will be provided for the replacement seat.
2. Applications must be submitted within 60 days of the accident. Late submissions will not be accepted.
3. Only products purchased from authorized Combi dealers in Hong Kong or Macau (“official stock”) are eligible. Items purchased elsewhere or via unauthorized resellers (“parallel imports”) are not covered.
4. This program provides product replacement only. No cash or alternative compensation is available.
5. If the original model is discontinued or out of stock, Combi will provide a suitable alternative model based on the child’s height and age at the time of application.
6. All logistics and shipping costs are the applicant’s responsibility.
7. The damaged child car seat must be submitted for inspection by a Combi-appointed agent upon application. Processing typically takes 7 to 14 business days. Combi reserves the right to dispose of the inspected product.
8. This program applies exclusively to child car seats. Other Combi products (e.g., strollers or accessories) are not covered.
9. Combi Hong Kong Baby Products Exclusive Distributor: Nicenoon Far East Limited reserves the right of final approval, interpretation, and enforcement regarding all aspects of this replacement program.
